Job Description

  • The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure that the cleanliness, appearance, and atmosphere of the facility meet the highest standards of quality. The role involves supervising housekeeping staff, ensuring adherence to safety standards, conducting inspections, and maintaining efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and washing floors.
  • Replace linens, towels, and other amenities according to established standards.
  • Ensure that all rooms are stocked with necessary supplies and toiletries.
  • Clean and maintain common areas such as lobbies, hallways, stairwells, and restrooms.
  • Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of public facilities including elevators, lounges, and dining areas.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, reporting maintenance issues, and ensuring that all cleaning equipment is in good working condition.
  • Follow safety protocols when using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and special cleaning requirements.
  • Report any guest complaints or issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor or relevant department.
  • Monitor and manage cleaning supplies and report any shortages or needs for replenishment.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning products and equipment.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follow company policies and procedures related to cleaning and sanitation.
  • Complete and submit required documentation such as cleaning checklists, maintenance reports, and incident reports.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding tasks and any issues encountered.
  • Perform additional cleaning or maintenance tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor or management.
  • Assist with deep cleaning or special projects as needed.

Skills & Experience 

  • Minimum 2 years of experience required.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning protocols.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
