Job Description
- The Cleaner/Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment in various areas of the facility. This role involves performing routine cleaning tasks, ensuring that designated areas are sanitized, and adhering to health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, hallways, offices, and other common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and/or polish floors as needed.
- Empty trash bins, replace liners, and dispose of waste properly.
- Clean and dust furniture, surfaces, windows, and fixtures.
- Restock restroom supplies, such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.
- Perform periodic deep-cleaning tasks such as carpet shampooing, window washing, and floor waxing.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch areas to prevent the spread of germs (e.g., doorknobs, light switches, elevator buttons).
- Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and steam cleaners.
- Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and report when restocking is required.
- Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of cleaning equipment.
- Follow safety procedures, including proper use of chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report any hazards, damages, or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental standards, and health regulations.
- Assist with light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs or reporting needed repairs.
- Monitor building security by ensuring that doors, windows, and entry points are properly secured after cleaning.
- Assist with event setup and breakdown, including cleaning before and after events.
- Participate in seasonal tasks such as snow removal or outdoor area cleaning, as required.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience required.
- A 3 year graduation degree or equivalent.
- Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial work is a plus.
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
- Good physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
