- The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring high standards of service, quality, and profitability. This role involves managing staff, maintaining customer satisfaction, controlling inventory, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service flow and efficient processes.
- Monitor and improve the quality of food, beverage, and customer service to meet high standards.
- Ensure all areas of the restaurant (dining area, kitchen, bar) are properly staffed, maintained, and clean.
- Hire, train, and supervise restaurant staff, including waiters, chefs, kitchen staff, and bar personnel.
- Develop staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak and off-peak hours.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance staff performance.
- Conduct performance evaluations and address any disciplinary issues or grievances.
- Ensure an exceptional dining experience by maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Respond to customer complaints or feedback in a timely and professional manner.
- Build rapport with regular customers and ensure their preferences are catered to.
- Oversee restaurant budgets, monitor expenses, and manage cost control (labor, food, beverage).
- Track daily sales and revenue, prepare financial reports, and analyze performance metrics.
- Identify opportunities to increase profitability, such as upselling, menu promotions, or cost-cutting initiatives.
- Collaborate with chefs and bar staff to develop or update menus, including seasonal specials or promotional items.
- Ensure proper inventory management, including ordering supplies, maintaining stock levels, and minimizing waste.
- Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms to control costs.
- Ensure that the restaurant adheres to health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Monitor kitchen and dining area cleanliness and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
- Ensure compliance with local laws, including alcohol licensing, labor laws, and food safety standards.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract and retain customers.
- Plan and execute special events, promotions, or campaigns to drive sales and increase brand visibility.
- Work with social media teams or digital platforms to promote the restaurant online.
- Foster a positive and productive working environment for all employees.
- Lead by example, motivating the team to deliver excellent service and maintain high standards.
- Address any operational challenges or conflicts within the team proactively.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience required.
