The Waiter is responsible for providing excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for all guests. Key Responsibilities
Greet guests promptly and courteously upon arrival.
Present menus, offer recommendations, and answer questions about the menu items, special dishes, and beverages.
Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff.
Serve food and beverages in a timely and professional manner.
Ensure that orders are prepared correctly and meet guest preferences or special dietary requirements.
Clear tables and reset them for the next guests, maintaining a clean and organized dining area.
Provide suggestions to guests on menu items, specials, and drink pairings to enhance their dining experience.
Upsell additional products, such as desserts, side dishes, or beverages.
Communicate efficiently with the kitchen and bar staff regarding order specifics, modifications, or dietary restrictions.
Ensure any guest complaints or issues are relayed and addressed promptly, coordinating with management if necessary.
Present the bill to guests and process payments accurately using cash or credit/debit card machines.
Provide change when required and thank guests for their patronage.
Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including tables, chairs, and service stations.
Follow all health and safety standards, including hygiene regulations.
Ensure that all tableware, utensils, and glassware are clean and properly set.
Work collaboratively with other wait staff, kitchen, and bar teams to ensure smooth operations and a seamless guest experience.
Assist in other restaurant tasks such as refilling water, restocking items, and cleaning as required.
Build rapport with regular guests and ensure their preferences are remembered and catered to.
Handle any guest complaints or concerns in a calm and courteous manner, escalating to management if necessary.
Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience required.
3 years of Graduation degree or equivalent.
Prior experience as a waiter or in a customer service role is preferred.
Knowledge of food and beverage service, including various cuisines and beverages.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Basic math skills for handling payments and processing bills.
